About Dirks Law Firm

Ryan E. Dirks, Esq.

Ryan has been involved in real estate in various capacities for nearly 20 years. In addition to being a practicing attorney, Ryan has real world insight into real estate investment, valuation, and management. He has an extensive real estate background with prior experience in residential and commercial sales, land development, property rehabilitation, and large scale commercial property management. He has managed properties ranging from mobile homes to regional shopping centers and understands the issues landlords and tenants face. He is also a licensed Florida real estate broker.

Through his experiences as a real estate professional, Ryan found his love for the law. In 2008, he left a successful career as a real estate asset manager and began pursuing the study of law full time. Being a Nebraska native and having received his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration/Finance from the University of Nebraska at Kearney, Ryan chose to begin his legal education at the University of Nebraska, College of Law, a top tier law school. While Attending UNL Law, Ryan focused his legal education on real estate transactions, negotiations, business entities, and wills and trusts.

Following graduation from the University of Nebraska School of Law, Ryan moved to Florida, joined the Florida Bar, and began practicing in the area of real estate law. Ryan initially chose to practice with the Davis Basta Law Firm, P.A. in Palm Harbor. While at the Davis Basta Law Firm, Ryan specialized in complex litigation. His cases included HOA/Condo Association disputes, landlord/tenant disputes, homestead and annuity exemption disputes, insurance settlement disputes, private mortgage foreclosures and foreclosure defense.

During his time at the Davis Basta Law Firm, Ryan attended, and graduated from, “The Robert Traurig-Greenberg Traurig LL.M” in the Real Property Development Program through the University of Miami School of Law. Ryan’s participation in this program has given him access to, and instruction from, top national experts in real estate law. Through their instruction, Ryan gained an even greater understanding of land acquisition, finance, regulation, tax law, construction law, residential and commercial development, landlord tenant, closings, negotiation, planning strategies and drafting.

After graduating with his LL.M. (Master of Laws) Ryan parted ways with the Davis Basta Law Firm, and began the Dirks Law Firm, P.A.

At the Dirks Law Firm, Ryan’s areas of practice range from simple landlord/tenant actions to complex commercial real estate transactions/litigations. By understanding both the law and his client’s real estate businesses, Ryan is able to provide his clients with real world solutions and guidance. Most notably, Ryan focuses on helping his real estate clients find cost effective solutions that minimize business risk and maximize business returns.

Whether your issue is a simple residential landlord/tenant dispute, or a complex commercial real estate transaction, lease dispute, or property valuation protest, Ryan has the depth of knowledge and legal training to deliver measurable results.
